The Vizhinjam Lighthouse is a red-and-white, solar-powered, conreate lighthouse located near Kovalam Beach and the Vizhinjam Seaport in Kovalam, Kerala, in southwest India. It is also referred to as the Kovalam Beach Lighthouse. This is one of the only lighthouses in the world to be equipped with an elevator. The lighthouse has a two-sided bivalve lens with two sets of flashers that give off a double-flash every 15 seconds.
