Bsig(3144f) DivEC ShuntLeftC ShuntRightC s-1919 b-1920

Belgian 1920-type riveted bracket with two 1904-type riveted dolls of equal height, 1919-type stop and shunt semaphore arms of the 3-position system. Each stop signal is effectively a 2-position signal red/yellow: it assumes a CAUTION state as the least restricted state, e.g. for
1. station loop entrance with compulsory stop at the platform; or
2. station exit with no distant signal between the exit and the next stop signal.
The shunt arm (confined: violet and yellow only) is activated through a SHUNT modifier.
== Alternative signal state codes.==
Belgian mechanical signalling, which was phased out during the latter half of the previous century, has received little attention and little photographic coverage, in contrast to its British ancestor. The Belgian association P.F.T. has published Histoire de la signalisation ferroviaire en Belgique - Tome II, a monograph on this subject (in French). For the proper use of Belgian signals, signal rule books should be consulted. These are either in French or in Dutch.
