The 2300 class resulted from a rebuild of some of the 1550 and 2400 class locos, and the class is now complete.
They are being used mostly around Brisbane and southeastern Queensland, although some have now travelled as far north as Townsville.
Interestingly, the numbers of some of the locos in this class are the same as those from the former 2350 class.
