Dropcentre Tramcar 300

A total of 191 Drop Centre type tramcars were built between 1925 and 1938.
Cars were equipped with 2x60 hp GE275RB, GE275SB, MV114 or Witton motors mounted in
4ft 6ins diamond frame or 5ft 5ins plate frame reverse maximum traction trucks built by the B.C.C.
Trolley pole bases were US13 type and utilised the trolley wheel contact method.
This tram represents the models between 295 and 310, 312. 295 was the first tram to be built with air braking and apart from experimental cars 224 and 229,
was the first production tram to be fitted with side destination boxes when new.
No.300 has been preserved at the Brisbane Tramway Museum.
No 295 has been preserved at the Sydney Tramway Museum.
No.300 was built in 1935 and is presented here the way it would have appeared during the 1960's.
