The original Queen Mary vacuume braked vans were built on redundant LBSCR coach underframes,later batches had purpose built underframes.SR was the only company to build them in any quantity.They carried three tail lamps,the outers having red to the rear and white to the front, so the driver should have known if he was still pulling all of his train.
