J94 LNER8009

The Austerity 0-6-0 Saddle Tanks were introduced by the Ministry of Supply
in 1943 to a design by R.A.Riddles. Many of these locomotives were purchased by
large industrial concerns such as collieries and steel works for shunting private sidings. This one worked as a J94 for the LNER and later BR.
Many are also now running on preserved railways.
