bad Ie

Between 1887 and 1892, 30 class Ie locomotives were build in four batches by Maschinenbau Gesellschaft Karlsruhe for the Grandducal Baden State Railways. Locomotives of similar design had previously entered service with the neigbouring Palatine Railways. Their max speed was 60 km/h. The tiny locomotives were used for shunting and light passenger trains on branch lines. After the merger of the German state railways in 1921 a number of them were taken over and listed as class 88.75 in the first locomotive inventory of Deutsche Reichsbahn of 1925. The last of them served at the locomotive shed in Offenburg until 1930
