Piper J3 Cub

The Piper J3 Cub was originally designed by the Taylor brothers as a small, light and simple utility aircraft. In 1938 it sold for just over $1000. With a wingspan of 35 feet (11 m) and a length of 22.5 feet (6,8m), the J3 was powered by a 75-horsepower(55kW), four-cylinder, air-cooled engine and had a cruising speed of 87 miles/h (140km/). Piper sold some 8.700 J3s beetween 1938 and 1941. It is one of the most popular und best-known light aircrafts of all time.
