QR 1502 Class

A light freight/suburban passenger locomotive. The 1502s were superficially similar to the earlier 1460s, but were fitted with an EMD 12-645E engine. Four units were sold to Tranz Rail, New Zealand becoming the DQ class, but have now been sold to ATN in Tasmania and two of the class, Nos. 1504 and 1507 have been rebuilt as Interail's 423 class, using the standard gauge bogies from FreightRail's 49 class.
