New York Harbor District

The New York Harbor District Railroad (NYHD) is a roughly 3.2 mile terminal switching railroad located in Brooklyn, NY in the middle of New York City Harbor. Formed as a result of the demise of the New York Dock and Fulton Terminal railroads in 1983, the NYHD is a carfloat operation in which it recieves carloads from the New Jersey shore, and distributes them to industries throughout suburban New York. The road primarily carries commodities like lumber, ethanol, scrap metal, stone, concrete, construction debris, food products, paper, plastics, and coal, utilizing a fleet of 4 locomotives of varying model.
