VR E T1a 1903+

Victorian Railways E Class 2-4-2 Tank was designed by Kitson & Co Engineering England 1888 and built by Phoenix Foundry Ballarat 1889 to 1893.

From 1905 through to 1909 most locomotive where reboilered with the high pressure AA and Y Class type, some locomotives however kept there low pressure 120, 130 and 140 PSI Boilers, this version of E Class kept the 140 PSI boilers, most of the 160 to 170 PSI high pressure E Class where converted to EE from 1923.

This model represents the class when they where in the final days of running suburban lines due to more powerful locomotives such as the DDE 4-6-2 Tank and electrification from 1919 and where withdrawn from 1920 to 1922 then sold of to South Australia.
