Le Tue-Vâques - Version 3.0

The 'Tue-Vâques', version 3.0. Humorously named by the inhabitants of the Cotentin, the 'Tue-Vâques', which means 'cows killer' in local dialect, was a private branch line railway, standard gauge, 1.435m. It was formed in 1926 under the name 'Norman Trams' and 'Norman Railways (CFN)' from 1928, through the merger of two different local companies. One, the 'Departemental Railways' (CFD), operated a Y-shaped line from 1886 to 1926 between Valognes to Barfleur, with a branch joining St-Martin-Audouville-Vaudreville to Montebourg (Nothing to do with the French Minister of industry development !). The second opened 25 years later in 1911, linked Barfleur to Cherbourg. It was operated by a local company called 'The Channel Railways' (CFM).
This is the story of this local railway route, that resembles, as possible as that was the reality in the last three years of its operation, between 1947 and 1950.
Find the complete story of the railway focusing on .txt file attached, and on website. Http://www.dreco.fr.
