EP1M-777+

The electric locomotive is mass-produced by the Novocherkassk Electric Locomotive Plant. Electric locomotives EP1 are positioned by the manufacturer as a replacement for domestic electric locomotives VL60PK and previously imported from Czechoslovakia ChS4 and ChS4T. Since 2007, a modernized electric locomotive EP1M has been manufactured, as well as its version EP1P, which has increased traction due to changes in the gear ratio of traction gearboxes. It is designed specifically for operation on the heavy profile of Russian Primorye and has a separate numbering that began with 001. Modernized electric locomotives differ from EP1 mainly in the installation of asymmetric lightweight current collectors, in a plastic block cab with a modified driver’s workplace. The cabin and the control panel of these electric locomotives allow you to drive passenger trains in 'one person' mode, that is, one engineer without an assistant, although this type of operation is considered unreliable and is not used.
