SAR Bagged Grain Shed
The South Australian Railways provied many services to the rural townships. Transport for agricuture including bagged grain was a big part of this. To support this simple storage sheds where built adjacent to the line to support storage with protection from weather and rodents. These facilities evoloved overtime starting as a simple platform and later with introduced roofing and sides to protect from the elements. During the 1950s more modernised sheds where introduced and then into the 1960s contrete silos came into play.
This shed incoroprates a seasonal aspect which will visibly display a random number of stacked bags that will increase during the harvest and post harvest period and then decline during the cooler winter months. Additionally the hessian sheets will vary based on season with some random alterations to this.
