The screenshot should give a good idea how these are used: basically at each end of every dwelling,(so a single pair of villas uses three: one at each end, and one in the middle, plus two more for every additional unit thereafter). Where units join, the divider straddles the junction. The asset is preset to the correct height.

(Lining-up tip for the divider in the middle of a unit: use the ridge of the rear extension as your guide.)
