Modular Factory Kit3 Shutter Door Unit Weathered Brown Brick


My third set of factory modules is based on buildings from two sites in Fife in Scotland, although since they're built of brick, they could suit almost anywhere in the UK and perhaps even further afield as well. The individual units are quite big, as befits large-scale industry. As with my other modular kits, various items can be combined to produce a wide range of results. For ease of searching, all assets in the kit start with the prefix MFK3, and all in a matching brick have WBB following that.

Apart from the blocking-off of windows, provision of new roller shutter doors seems to account for most of the alterations made to factories after their construction, offering a good prototypical reason for this useful module, which matches the dimensions of two panels on the two doorless main factory units, so that it can be used to create a door wherever it's needed. The screenshot shows one in situ, and another by itself. The unit's reversible, allowing you to have the personnel access door on either side. This is my first major release of assets using the PEV exporter (allowing the use of normal mapping with Gmax for the first time) and I'd like to record my gratitude to Peter Villaume for his continued innovation and support. Interestingly, though, this and the downpipe are the only items in the first release made using the older TACS exporter instead: the downpipe didn't need normal mapping, and whilst this did, following repeated failure after several hours of trying to achieve consistent light and shade with both faces using PEV's software, I threw in the towel and returned to the original.
