An important feature of the Buildings Packs is that they allow some flexibility: although each set will contain just a few, often basic, buildings, there will also be added extras so that you can have variations.
In this case it's a rear extension for the farmhouse, permitting either a T or both L groundplans.
It can also be used to make the present front a back by covering the existing porch, thus allowing a different porch to ne added to the other face.
