Welsh Highland

This route is based on the old Caernarfon to Porthmadog line. It starts in the heart of Caernarfon and includes points like Dinas Junction, Nantmoor slate quarry and the beautiful Beddgelert Station and the section of line through the aberglaslyn pass which is now long gone. The origonal purpose of the railway was to get supplys to from places like Rryd-Ddu or caernarfon
to the Nantmoor quarry and the slate from Nantmoor to Porthmadog Slate docks to be shipped around the world. The railway is currently being restored and is due for completion in 2008.
