Rhukan is where the occupying Nazi forces produced aluminium and 'heavy water' as part of their attempts to build a nuclear bomb.

Nowegian resistance fighters tried to destroy the aluminium factory at Rhukan. They failed on the first try but then blew up one of the ferry ships which joined the northern and southern parts of the rail route. The occupying forces lost a cargo of heavy water destined for Germany. A number of local people died when the ship sank, and the Nazi ambition was thwarted.

I have spent a few years making this route. There are a lot of details that could be improved. You are welcome to try!
