Bo'ness- Manuel Junction
The Bo'ness & Kinneil Railway is a preserved line in West Lothian operated by the Scottish Railway Preservation Society (SRPS) who were formed in 1961. Work began to create the line from 1979, with Bo'ness Station opening in 1981. Kinneil Halt was reached in 1987 and Birkhill Station in 1989. The railway was extended to Manuel Junction and connected to the BR mainline in 1990, although passenger trains did not use this section of the line at this time. The Museum of Scottish Railways behind Bo'ness Station opened in 1995 with an extension built in 2002. Passenger trains commenced running to Manuel Junction in 2010, with a platform built and in use there from 29/06/13. The Birkhill Fireclay Mine unfortunately closed to the public in 2013. The BR Edinburgh- Glasgow main line running parallel to Manuel Junction Station had electrification masts fitted during 2016, the first electric service ran on 10/12/17.
The 5 mile line runs virtually on the level from Bo'ness station to the nearby Kinneil Halt. There are stunning views around here over the Firth of Forth to Fife and the Ochil Hills, the scene being punctuated by the massive Longannet power station which is now closed. After passing under the A904 bridge at Snab Brae, the line is steeply graded uphill through woodland alongside Grangemouth Road, with Grangemouth Refinery visible to the north. The line then curves southbound past Birkhill Station and over the impressive arched Almond Vale Viaduct on to Manuel Halt adjacent to the BR Edinburgh- Glasgow main line.

This Trainz route is built to the 2013 trackplan with accurate gradients, including the 1:95 taxing steep climb alongside Grangemouth Road and the 1:58 climb south of Birkhill station. Birkhill Fireclay Mine is included with its narrow gauge railway, mine cars can be run along this system from the Mine entrance up the extremely steep slope to the former loading buildings. The extensive Bo'ness yard is modelled as is the Museum with all internal trackwork. A section of the adjacent BR Edinburgh- Glasgow Main Line is modelled with portals to the east and west to allow appropriate ScotRail and InterCity trains to shuttle back and forth past Manuel Junction. The connection from the Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway to the BR Main Line is also included for transfer movements. Catenary is added on the mainline as a separate layer which can be switched off if the session is pre 2016 or on if the session is post 2016.
