NSW SRA 1926 Single-deck Steel Non-driving Power Car - TS12

In 1985 an effort was made to accelerate single decker suburban train sets by increasing te ratio of power cars to trailers. C3143 was chosen to be modifiedinto a non-control power car and to be used as the fifth power car in eight car set B20. It was withdrawn from B4 at Flemington on the 20th of August 1985 and had its griving controls disabled and marker lights removed. Renumbered to N0143, it would return to service on 23 August 1985. However , it would not last long and would be withdrawn at Punchbowl Car Sheds on the 4th of September 1985. It was stored at Elstons sidings awaiting scrapping all the way into 1989. It is unknown when it was scrapped.
