BR Class 455 MSO

Built in batches between 1981 and 1984, the Class 455 represented a large order to replace the existing 4-SUB units from the South Western and South Central divisions as well as displacing the Class 508s from these areas (the latter were earmarked for Merseyside). All 3 have several diffences between them and as privisation goes on and as the units recieve refurbishments, the designs get a lot more different.

The units orignally were delivered in British Rail blue and grey livery as well as the Class 455/7's recieving an Ex-Class 508 TSO in their formation (A very non standard type of car), the class went on to recieve the Network SouthEast livery and then the privisiation liveries. The units run under both operations that use them (Southern and South West Trains) are now starting to refurbish their trains.

This is a model of a Class 455/7, /8 or /9 Motor Standard in pre refurbishment condition.
