NZR EO51-42 Loco

NZR EO51-42 electric loco: built to NZR 3ft. 6. Five
of these locos were built by Toshiba and used since 1968 on the Otira section of line at Arthurs Pass New Zealand. They were
placed in storage after the electric section at Otira was discontinued in favour of diesel in the late 1990's.Three of these
loco's were refurbished at the Hutt workshops recently for use on the ping-pong trains which ply the Wellington - Hutt Valley
line during peak hours.
