QR NG End Platform BXV

Queensland Railways End Platform Carriage - Second Class Suburban Guardsvan 'BXV' which was built in batches at the Ipswich Railway Workshops in 1904 with carriage #455 to #459. Unusually these vans were built with smaller guards lookouts than the usual standard design used on all guards vans. The BXV were primarly smoking carriages as was indicated above the windows. Most of these vans stayed in the Brisbane suburban district for most of their working lives, but all were gone by 1966 as the majority were converted in Camp Wagons.
