Liverpool Range - Wingen-Braefield - ROUTE
Across the Liverpool Range in 1955 from Wingen to Braefield.
The route includes the continuous 1 in 40 climbs to the peak of the Liverpool Range at Ardglen from the South (Pages River bridge) and the North (Kankool).
From 1891 until 1965, the loco depot at Murrurundi provided banking engines for most goods trains and some passenger trains departing Murrurundi for the Down-direction climb and departing Willow Tree for the Up-direction climb.
The route topography has been produced using TransDEM, with assistance from TransDEM's author, Roland Ziegler.
