BR Presflo Salt (ICI)

The Presflo was one of the few BR standard goods wagons to owe nothing to pre-nationalisation practice. Intended to be used for conveying powder loads such as cement they were loaded by gravity through top hatches and discharging by compressed air. This model represents the 20 wagons that were slightly different and intended for carrying bulk salt loads. They were built in the late 1950s and were probably used until about 1964. Later they were converted for carrying other loads such as slate powder and flyash.
