signalling channel gantry, Hawkesbury River station, NSWGR
A metal gantry supporting a sheet-metal channel that carried control and sensing cables from Hawkesbury River electrical interlocking house, up over the down main and refuge tracks and down into the trackside signalling channel that ran out to the colour light signals and motor-worked points controlled from the signal box.
The interlocking house was located on the station platform. Instead of burying the cable channel under the platform surface and the down tracks, a gantry was used to elevate the channel 20 feet above the tracks.
