Tunnel bore and portals with double track, Boronia No3 tunnel, NSW

The 3rd of 5 Boronia tunnels on Cowan Bank, NSW. It is 463ft long on an 11-chain curve and a gradient of 1 in 40 facing up trains.
The tunnel is modelled on its appearance in the steam era, before electrification works in 1959 gouged out brickwork from the portals and walls to give greater clearance for long double-deck EMU carriages.
The height difference between the north and south portals is 11.57ft (3.53m).
For the Cowan Bank route <kuid:368725:100011>, collar assets for the north and south portals have been created to cover the tunnel digholes. These are 'Tunnel portal collar for south portal of Boronia No3 tunnel, NSW' <kuid:368725:20453> and 'Tunnel portal collar for north portal of Boronia No3 tunnel, NSW' <kuid:368725:20454>.
