cattle grid for a rural grazing property

Parallel iron bars spaced evenly over a pit. While road vehicles can pass over the grid, livestock slip between the bars and so cannot pass over.
The grid is used instead of a gate and therefore avoids the inconvenience of opening and closing gates on grazing properties.
