Miniature Electric Staff Instrument on pedestal mount, NSWGR
A miniature electric staff instrument mounted on a 0.7m-tall pedestal, as used by New South Wales Government Railways (NSWGR).
The model is interactive and is intended to be operated by a 'Safeworking Officer',<kuid:368725:15000>, using the 'SWO Controller Rule',<kuid:368725:60021>.
An instrument can only accept staffs of one pattern: A, B, C or D. No adjacent staff section uses the same pattern. The model allows the user to select the pattern handled for each instance of it on the map. Open 'Edit Properties' in Surveyor and toggle the control to set the pattern.
For correct operation there must be an instrument that accepts the same staff pattern at each end of the staff section. These instruments MUST use a naming convention. A 3-character location code is allocated to each location. If 'ABC' is the code at one end and 'DEF' is the code at the other end, then the A-end instrument is given the local name 'ABC_MSI_DEF' and the B-end instrument is given 'DEF_MSI_ABC'.
The local safe-working officer must be named '<local location code>_SWO'.
The instrument is assumed to be housed in a room with artificial lighting at night, and so the model will self-illuminate between 6pm and 6am.
