LMS Ex-LNWR 5ft 6in 2-4-2T (1928-1948)

The Webb 2-4-2Ts were introduced in 1890, and were a further development of Francis Webb's existing 4ft 6in 2-4-0Ts and 2-4-2Ts. Despite the fact that some were withdrawn as early as 1921, the majority survived into LMS ownership. Many were motor fitted in the late 1920s and early 1930s, which gave them longer working lives. Several survived nationalisation, with the last being withdrawn in 1955. None were preserved.
