SNCF (ex-PO-Midi) 231A

This series of Pacific locomotives (the first of that type in Europe) were built to haul the fastest and heaviest trains on the Paris-Orleans steeply graded routes south of Tours. They later formed the basis for the famous Chapelon 240 locomtives after rebuilding.
