CFCLA VL Class Enginespec
Chicago Freight Car Leasing Australia VL Class Diesel Electric Locomotive enginespec.
The VL Class Locomotive was built in 2007 to run in New South Wales and South Australia on Standard Gauge and in Victoria on Broad Gauge. The VL also has improvements over the XR Class and G Class, while the G Class is 340kn at 19.5km/h and the XR Class is 344kn at 17km/h the VL can achieve a higher Tractive Effort at the same speeds with a drawbar pull of 344kn at 20km/h, it's traction control system allows it to take 1200 tonnes over a 1in48 (2.08% Grade), 1520 tonnes over a 1in52 (1.92% Grade) and 2250 tonnes over a 1in100 (1% Grade).
