Vicrail MTH - 1983+

From 1983 under the State Transport Authority Act (STA Vic) 4 Harris Cars, (2) First Series Trailer Cars and (2) First Series Backing Trailer Cars where converted to Country Cars with Gensets and Air-conditioning for use behind the Tulloch Rail Motors to increase Capacity on Branch and Country Lines where it was no longer profitable for locomotives to run.

The Tulloch Rail Motors where not reliable and where often replaced by outdated Walker Rail Motors and DERM's, sometimes the MTH Cars would be seen behind a Y Class or T Class.
