GTW South East Michigan Lines BETA
This is a compilation of Grand Trunk Western, Conrail (former Michigan Central), C&O (Pere Marquette), Wabash (N&W / NS), and Detroit Terminal RR lines and a few others in Southeast Michigan. All trackwork is accurate from track charts and aerial photos dating from 1970 through to 1990s. Custom content, buildings, interlockings, and other custom structures were made to make this route look accurate as much as possible.
Most trains are through trains on the GTW Holly and Mt. Clemens Subs. There are several major yards in this route that GTW, Conrail, and NS operates. Tunnel Yard and East Yard comprise two division point yards on the Mt. Clemens Sub. Pontiac Yard is the large division point yard on the Holly Sub. Portions of North Yard, Sterling Yard, Livernois Yard and Mound Yard will be on the Conrail side. GTW's West Detroit Yard also will be in the route.
Autoparts, petrochemicals, automobiles, & raw industrial materials make up most of the traffic. Lumber, grain, metal ingots, paper, gravel, cement, plastics, and intermodal traffic are also seen on the rails.
Speed limits vary on each subdivision. 40 - 49 on the Mt. Clemens Sub, 55+ on the Holly Sub and slower in Detroit.
The territory is operated by track warrant / radio clearance from CN/IC TD-2 on 160.530mhz. There is CTC at New Haven with a 12,000 foot passing siding, the only one on the line. Other small sidings exist but not for long freight trains. CTC once again is in effect at MP 10 at the Double Track Switch.
This route will have invisible signals between stations as to allow local trains to work the various industry in AI mode. This is an unfinished route, work in progress.
This route is freeware. All supportive content installed to make this a great route is well appreciated by the many content creators. Special thanks to Trainz user jrfloco for creating part of the Port Huron to Detroit portion of this route from DEM based data. The rest of the route was done by topographic and Google Earth based elevation data for accurate grades, hills, and river valley heights.
This is now a TANE route. TS12 users this version and others after will not work.
