One of the most downloaded and popular layouts ever by Trainz Pro Routes (TPR) gets a major update! The Clinchfield Railroad traverses some of the most beautiful country in the world. It is an engineering marvel and it is both a coal-hauler and a bridge route which makes for a variety of interesting operations. The current CSX Railroad swallowed up the Clinchfield Railroad and still uses the old route in it's daily operations. The Clinchfield Project is a semi-prototypical depiction of the Clinchfield Railroad as it was in the late 60's or early 70's. Actual route maps were used by TPR in an attempt to capture the actual locations in reference to each other. However, at the time that the original Clinchfield route was started, actual track diagrams of the various yards and coal tipples along the route were not available. So a large degree of modelers license was used to depict these areas. This simulation is for those who want to haul coal! There are very few other industries on-line. The reason is fairly simple, there is so much coal-oriented industry in the simulation that you will have a neverending variety of operations just getting hundreds of coal hoppers to and from the tipples, to the lower plants and to the yards and interchanges. This is an update of the Clinchfield TRS route which was last updated by Craig Hutchison (Momentum) in 2005. The original author of this route is John Keenan from TPR who has generously granted permission for me to update this route to to TRS2010 standards. My thanks to all the 3rd party content developers who make routes like this possible! Lots of scenery and attention to detail so this layout will require a computer with really good graphics handling capability. The setting for this layout is mid-fall in the Appalachian mountain region of the United States of America. No layers or speedtreez are in this route.
