C-16 #278

This is a Class C-16 locomotive built in 1882 by the Baldwin Locomotive Works of Philidelphia, PA. This locomotive had a long history with the D&RGW RR. In it's final years it served on the route between Gunnison and Montrose, CO through the Black Canon. Finally she was retired in March of 1953 after 71 years of faithful service. The engine is currently on display in Cimarron, CO.
