J50/1 Loco BR Black

The J50/1 was designed by Nigel Gresley for the Great Northern Railway in 1913. Eventually totalling 102 the class was rebuilt in the 1930s and features a distinctive long side tank configuration (sloping down at the front to improve forward vision) intended to maximise adhesion on steeply graded lines.
