J15 Passenger Loco BR Black

This well known prototype was one of the most successful produced by the Great Eastern Railway, due to the fact that they were simple and robust and had a very low axle load enabling them to run over the whole of the GER system. 289 were built, at Nationalisation in 1948 there were still 130 in existance although 50 were withdrawn before BR numbers could be allocated. The last was withdrawn in 1962, one (65462) is preserved.
