The private railway company HNJ ordered 4 steam locos (HNJ B5b) from Atlas 1904 meant for local passenger traffic,
such as Landeryd-Falkoping. But they could also be seen on other lines like Waggeryd-Jonkoping. In the end of 1918 installation of super-heaters was done.
When SJ bought the company 1945 the 4 steam locos were renamed L28, but remained along former HNJ paths and especailly for traffic Landeryd-Falkoping.
Max speed was set to 70 km/h and the pulling force to 5,0 Mp.
All locos were scrapped in Vislanda 1953-1956.

HNJ beställde år 1904 4 stycken mogul lok (HNJ B5b) av Atlas. De skulle sättas in i den ökande passagerar trafiken på HNJ och då främst på linjen Landeryd-Falköping.
Man kunde dock få syn på dem även på andra HNJ linjer såsom Waggeryd-Jönköping.
Under slutet av 1910-talet försågs de med överhettare.
När SJ övertog HNJ 1945 omlittererades loken till L 28 och fortsatte sin tjäns på f.d. HNJ banorna.
STH sattes till 70 km/t och dragkraften till 5,0 Mp.
Samtliga lok skrotades i Vislanda under perioden 1953-1956.
