Chicago & Illinois Western

The Chicago & Illinois Western was a real railroad, a plan for expansion of the Chicago & Illinois Midland from Chicago to St. Louis for Commonwealth Edison's power plants. It failed to get beyond the industrial spur stage. It was operated by and later sold to Illinois Central. This layout is based on the trackplan created by Frank Hodina and published on p.10-11 of the 2008 issue of Model Railroad Planning.
