RS3 DL&W 909

Delaware Lackawanna & Western owned 18 RS3's in a very simple black
and yellow paint scheme. Why didn't I think of creating these sooner?
Some had black stcks, and some had gray/silver. Some had the
lettering on the hood doors, and some had the lettering above the
hood doors. EL renumbered these units from 901-918 to 1039-1056.

Old KUID's for enginespec was 52779:9001, for enginesound
was -1:42003001, and for hornsound was -1:42003101.

This is the Alco RS3 Road Switcher. The RS3
is powered by the 12 cylinder 244 prime mover
giving 1600 Horse Power. The RS3 was produced
by Alco during the years 1950 to 1956. This
is the second most popular Alco engine
produced with 1,418 units made during the
production run.
