RS3 D&H 4095 Black and yellow

The Delaware & Hudson dieselized late and quickly with 33 S2's, 18 S4's, 26 RS2's and 104 RS3's.
They were originally delivered in black paint, and quickly yellow tiger stripes were added to the ends. In the 1960's, the blue and gray paint scheme was adopted.

This is the Alco RS3 Road Switcher. The RS3 is powered by the 12 cylinder 244 Prime Mover giving 1600 Horse Power. The RS3 was produced by Alco during the years 1950 to 1956. This is the second most popular Alco engine produced with 1,418 units made during the production run.
