SD45 D&H 802

Delaware & Hudson SD45 - D&H bought 3 SD45's along with their C628's and U30C's.
They were traded to EL for a while in exchange for U33C's, then traded back. It is this
'traded back' paint scheme that this model wears. Eventually, all three were sold
to Mexico.

The SD45 was a landmark locomotive for General Motors' Electro-Motive
Division (EMD). Under the hood it packed a 20-cylinder prime mover,
at the time the largest ever used in a locomotive, capable of
generating a whopping 3600 horsepower. Produced at the zenith of the
horsepower race between EMD and its competitors, the SD45 was king in
terms of its popularity; sales of other builders 3600 horsepower units
fell far short of EMD's 1260 units sold between 1965 and 1971.
This is a low poly model (4400) of a SD45 by James Hunt. Repainted
for the Delaware & Hudson by the Cincinnati Southern Railway's Cumberland
Shops.
