SD40 C&O 7581

C&O Owned 63 SD40's, #7450-7469 (delivered with yellow ends), 7475-7481, and 7501-7536. The 7400's were renumbered into the 7500's to keep all of the SD40's in the same series. B&O and WM SD40's were numbered in the gaps in these series, with B&O 7482-7490 being sold to CNJ before renumbering. The SD40 can be said to have been the mainstay of the rail systems through the 70s and 80s, good pulling power with reliabile maintenance cycles.
