The Riverton Subdivison
Deep in the hollows of Eastern Kentucky, Lies a 150 mile mainline that runs through the twist and curves of the mountains. Running East/West direction, The CSX Riverton Sub was originally build by the C&O in the late 1800s early 1900s. The route made its way throught the hills to get to the rich coal fields. Coal is king in this area. With many mines and twisting branchlines. This route offeres over 200 track miles of endless appalachian railroading.
Conway Southern travels south from Little Rock to Shepardsville on ex L&N lines. Originally built in the early 1900s to 1910s. The Riverton Sub is complete with PTC signaling. While the Conway Sub still uses CTC Searchlight signaling.
While coal is king. Other things you can see around the route is logging, Crude Oil, the Whiskey Barrel Trade from the old Conway Staves, Aggragates, Grain and Intermodals.
While this is built as a CSX Route. You can run whatever you want. Let your imagination take over here in the mountains, On the Riverton Sub.
