At the end of 1985 on the technical conditions agreed with the Head Office of locomotive economy MPS plant Lokomotivka-Sokolov were made, two experienced eight-shunting locomotive CHME5 having as locomotives TEM7, cartwright of using a two-axle bogies.
One of these locomotives - CHME5-0002 was shown in 1986 at the international exhibition 'Rail - 86', held at the experimental station of the ring VNIIZhT Scherbinka.
The body of the locomotive has a main frame, on which the two hood and cab. Main frame is based on two intermediate frames through a cylindrical coil springs, which are set parallel to the hydraulic shock absorbers. The ends of the intermediate frames are suspended from the middle parts of the bogie frames (two suspensions on each bogie). The transfer of traction and braking forces on the intermediate frame to the main frame is made with the help of pins, from trucks to the intermediate frames - with the help of inclined rods.
