TEM7(А) locomotive designed for heavy shunting and hump-export operation. Widely used in marshalling yards and hauling freight from the quarry. Can run on two-unit system.
Diesel - four twelve-12CHN26/26 with a V-shaped cylinder arrangement, with turbocharged and charge air cooling. Rotational speed - 1000 r / min.
Transmission AC-DC. It consists of a synchronous traction generator, the rectifier unit, eight DC traction motors, the causative agent and a set of electrical equipment.
The chassis provides the most comprehensive use of adhesion weight, good dynamic properties and fitting into a small radius curves. A four each truck consists of a two-axle bogies, connected by an intermediate frame. Two-stage spring suspension.
The brake system equipped with an automatic direct-acting brake with two-way touch pad, to obtain a high reliability of braking equipment used air drying system. Two-stage compressor driven by an electric motor. Hand brake - mechanical. To be able to work with the tipping car locomotive comes with two compressor units.
The body of the engine room has double doors, hatches and removable roof, providing free access to units for maintenance, repair and dismantling.
The cab is designed to meet current health and sanitation requirements. Devices for the control parameters of the power plant and auxiliary units, control equipment and safe conduct of the train are conveniently located. The locomotive is provided a system of vigilance. Management can be a locomotive engineer on either side of the cab, the driver seat annunciator indicated. The system auto mode maintains the set speed of the train.
