The Mid-Suffolk Light Railway (nicknamed “The Middy”)
This route is based loosely on the MSLR that briefly served the communities of the mid Suffolk area, as there is little left of the original line and information is sparse I have used my imagination (and some local knowledge) to create the line as I think it would have looked if it were completed according to plan at the turn of the century. Included are the extensions to Halesworth and to Westerfield which never actually came to fruition. The line was mainly used for goods traffic but I have included passenger enabled stations where possible. I have also added a spur off the Westerfield branch just south of the halt at Ashbocking to the Quarry at Shrublands – This quarry is still operational.
