Pantograph AKP-4E v2

Four-arm current collector, AKP type 4E. They are characterized by an unfavorable high mass of the structure and a large number of places where friction occurs. These two main disadvantages cause deterioration of the working parameters of the collector. The lower the mass, the lower the inertia, and thus better cooperation with the contact wire of the overhead contact line, which is particularly important at high travel speeds. For these reasons, designers strive to design the lightest pantographs, while maintaining appropriate strength parameters. Conducted research and experiments led to the construction of one-armed pantographs - the so-called half (Faiveley).
